I just turned 60 and have never been consistent with the gym. I knew I needed an ally and accountability—and Vanessa is exactly that. She’s the kind of person who seems born to do this job: caring, comprehensive, and bringing all the expertise needed to make this her perfect calling.
With her background as a physical therapist, and as a woman who has really invested time in learning fitness for herself and everything a gym has to offer, she meets me right where I am in my own gym—which I love. She sees exactly what my body needs and how to correct imbalances so I can stay strong and mobile for years to come. After just a month with her, I went on vacation in Dominica and climbed “Stairmaster Mountain” in the jungle, reaching the waterfall first—ahead of people I assumed were fitter and younger than me.
Seven weeks in, my posture is better, I’ve lost 3 inches off my waist, my mood is brighter, and I actually look forward to going to the gym. I now feel confident and free to use free weights and tools that used to feel intimidating, and I’m no longer intimidated by being around those people in that culture. I have every faith I’ll one day add my picture to the “before and after.” What impressed me about her website is that it’s not just about weight loss—it shows people whose whole bodies, strength, and confidence have changed without huge weight changes. For me, losing 10–15 pounds would be nice, but feeling strong, capable, and beautiful from the inside out is what really matters.

I love Vanessa’s workouts! She starts with prayer, which I love and appreciate. And she gives creative and challenging movements that help you have fun while you are working out yet are completely doable so you aren’t dreading them. I wish she lived closer so I could train with her in person. She’s simply the best and I value her Godly influence on my life!

I've been a potato on a couch for too long. I'm in my 60"s and noticing the expected results of this lack of activity. I found Vanessa Carlson Fitness after a quick search online for personal trainers. At first I was worried that I wouldn't be able to handle the stretches and exercises. After an hour long assessment, Vanessa introduced me to very doable stretches and exercises for my level of fitness. This inspired to me to keep going with the regular workouts Vanessa assigned. I can tell that I've become stronger and more flexible. I continue to work with Vanessa because she clearly knows what what's what when it comes to helping me improve my health and well-being.
